  • Website launch scavenger game
  • Special guest presentation
  • Sing-a-long
  • Children’s and Youth Folk Dancing – dance lesson included
  • Musical performances
  • Co-creation of our Alberta-Esto board game
  • Idea gneeration for 2018 – 100th year Estonian Independance Anniversary Celebrations
  • Estonian design activities for youth and children

Special guests in attendance include:

  • Eva Varangu, President of the Estonian Foundation of Canada, who we gratefully acknowledge for funding several of our important initiatives
  • Adriana Davies, Founder and Director of the Heritage Community Foundation that empowered us to set up the initial heritage component of our AEHS website
  • Morris Flewwelling, long time friend of the Estonian Community in the Red Deer area, recipient of: Alberta Lieutenant Governor’s Medal for Heritage Preservation (2007), the Alberta Centennial Medal (2005), the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee (2003) and Diamond Jubilee (2012) Medals and Member of the Order of Canada (1997)
  • Michael Dawe, local historian and municipal archivist, named Citizen of the Year in 2014 by the City of Red Deer and the provincial school administration council, and fifth-generation resident of Red Deer
  • Külliva Kangur, Honorary Consul of Estonia in Alberta
